Aged ~ having acquired a desirable quality or undergone an unexpected and/or desired change (with this era called the passage of time.)

Agency ~ the quality or state of being instrumental (It can be instrumental to you and/or instrumental to others or instrumental in your aspiration to help a cause in our world.)

Agility ~ having a resourceful and adaptable character (This can be physicialy and/or mentally.)

The practice into mindfulness first comes with the ability to enter into self-awareness. Please locate or purchase a small journal that you can write in as your begin your journey into 'Mindfulness'.

Throughout the day, I invite you to focus on becoming more aware of feelings and sensations in your body. As you go through your day, notice how certain events trigger particular sensations in your body. An argument may cause a tightening in your stomach, while a hug from a loved one may give you a feeling of openness in your chest. These are just examples; observe your inner sensations during the day.

If you do this regularly you will notice patterns. You will discover that particular situations trigger specific sensations in the body. These inner sensations have a huge impact on the choices you make – you react in a certain way. Right now many of these choices and reactions are unconscious and automatic. As you go on practicing, you will learn to recognize your own inner sensations, and will acquire the ability to consciously choose an appropriate and healthy response rather than an automatic reaction. This is the gift of self-awareness, and an essential first step in the journey towards self-fulfillment and authentic happiness.

Reminder: This is your own personal journal so move forward and proceed to write down any patterns you notice during your day. It would help you learn more about yourself, make healthier choices, and strengthen your foundation of positive mindfulness. Write down three aspects of your experience:

  • What was the sensation?

  • Under which circumstances have you felt it (what was the trigger)?

  • What was your reaction?

Many of my t-shirts feature special statements, personal mantras, which one can actively try to incorporate into one's life. It is not active on this site, but let me know if you cant to take a look at some of the t-shirts Maureen and I have designed.

We look forward to you joining us on life’s adventure, pull up a chair, or relax on your couch or patio, or locate a spot on your floor, and get ready to have life’s fulfilling promise of ‘Life can be a Joyous Journey’. ~ It takes work, however, to become..., it also takes patience to become..., and it takes giving yourself space to seek, to learn, and to find those mantras that can help you through the 'Three A's' of your Aging, your Agency, and your Agility.

Love from Maureen and Cindy
