Age is just 'chronologics'! Now, doesn't that sound historical?

When I was younger, I remember not wanting to tell my friends that my mother was 50 years-old and my father was what I thought as ancient at only 58 years. Perspective sure changes though, doesn't it? As I've reached the golden age of being a senior, I think that 50, 60, 70, 80, and into infinity years is not that old. In fact, I'm understanding more and more about my Momma's sayings that didn't quite set in my mind back then.

I remember traveling to California to see my aunts and uncles, I was in about eighth-grade. My mother and father didn't really talk that much to each other on our eight hour trip to the West coast. I thought it was funny and asked them if they were bored.

"Why, no!" my mother calmly claimed, "You see, by the time we get our age, we've spoken over a million times to each other and have experienced joys and sadnesses together and weaved our love through the thick and thin of being in a relationship. She went on to smile about her next thought and then expressed to me, "We are now in the era of contentment."

It wasn't until recently, that after living the life of go, go, go for my family, which I loved and my career in teaching, that is practically a 24-7 job, that I realized I was singing that thankful song, "It's a Great Day to be Alive" by Travis Tritt. Now some of you may say to yourself that the lyrics talk about shaving. Well, I'm here to tell you that I fit in that category now, as well. While my husband is losing his hair on top of his head, I'm growing a pretty good mustache that needs serious help somedays! LOL. Yup, it's all a part of life.

But in growing and aging, for all humans, our physical bodies change. Boomers, including me are finally able to 'see' that we may need those readers! Those glasses for up close reading. My eye doctor shared his expertise with me , when I sought comfort about my retina or cornea, after I had gone through successful laser surgery. Now I would be back to wearing glasses to read those text lines that were blurring. He boldly stated that it was not my cornea or retina but the muscles around the eye.

"Oh, that's comforting to know, Doc!" Not only are my butt muscles going, but now my eye muscles are going, too!" Well, such is life! LOL

Humor and being Human! That's what it's all about.

Life is one crazy journey, right? And you know what? Humor is like our secret weapon that makes the whole ride a lot more fun. It's what makes us human, keeps us going, and brings us together in the best way possible. So, let's keep laughing our way through this crazy adventure called life
